Abstract: Greenpeace is known for public actions and civil disobedience. But a lot of its impact on the world of politics and business is less visible. Greenpeace experts and campaigners engage with politics and business on a daily basis, both nationally and globally. How does Greenpeace aim to influence politics and business? What lessons can be learnt from Greenpeace´s 47 years of experience in seeking to change the world?

Biographical statement: Daniel Mittler is a graduate of Edinburgh University and Political Director of Greenpeace International. Based in Berlin he leads Greenpeace´s work on corporate power, global politics, trade and peace. He has led Greenpeace delegations to many global fora—from the World Trade Organization to the climate negotiations or the Rio+20 summit.
