RECWOWE Doctoral Workshop

WORK, CARE AND WELL-BEING: public and private arrangements

This two-day doctoral workshop will be organised in Helsinki, Finland, on September 16 to 17, 2008. The programme consists of lectures presented by staff members, presentations by doctoral students and discussion on their research plans. We expect between 15 and 20 participants.

The joint organisers are Stakes and University of Tampere, with Jussi Simpura, Stakes, and Anneli Anttonen, University of Tampere, as the workshop leaders. Staff member include Brigit Pfau-Effinger, Caroline de la Porte, Tine Rostgaard, Marta Szebehely, and Teppo Kröger. The venue will be Stakes (National Research and Development Centre for Welfare and Health), 15 minutes' walk from the city centre in Helsinki.

Those who are interested may consider a continuation of their stay in Helsinki in order to attend the ESPAnet annual conference 2008 to be held on September 18 to 20 (Thursday to Saturday). The topic of the conference is "Cross-border influence in social policy".  See the website for information.  


Junior doctoral researchers preparing theses on the topic and linked with RECWOWE and ESPAnet activities.


There is no participation fee.
The participants are expected to cover their travel expenses.
