Our MSc programmes offer a unique interdisciplinary approach to the study of public health problems, incorporating a distinctive focus on policy. They provide for specialisation in policy areas relevant at national and global levels, and across low-, middle- and high-income countries. Students engage with the research and public policy expertise of GPHU staff through taught courses, directed self-study, and discussion. In this way they gain the knowledge, research skills, and analytic expertise to respond to the challenges confronting public health today.
Most of GPHU’s teaching is postgraduate, which means that we are focused on the needs of postgraduate students. Our research activities directly inform our innovative postgraduate teaching. We offer the following MSc programmes:
We also offer an intercalated honours year in International Public Health Policy. This honours year is available to undergraduate medical students from Edinburgh University and other medical schools, and leads to the award of a Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree in International Public Health Policy. Prospective students wishing to find out more about the B Med Sci programme are welcome to contact Dr. Sarah Hill at S.E.Hill@ed.ac.uk.
