Overview

The Social Policy group at Edinburgh University is involved with numerous funded research projects . A particular focus is cross-national and comparative social policy analysis, with the social policy group playing major parts in international research networks (e.g. ESPAnet) and projects such as the programme on 'Sustainable Welfare and Sustainable Growth', funded by the Anglo-German Foundation.

The social policy group is also one of the key partners the European Commission’s FP VI Network of Excellence on ‘Reconciling Work and Welfare in Europe' (RECWOWE), with Edinburgh University hosting RECWOWE’s Training Activities Centre and its Publication and Dissemination Centre PUDISC. The Centre for Research on Families and Relationships (CRFR), to which the social policy group is an important contributor, is another main arena for social policy research at Edinburgh University.
