PhD Title
Childcare Markets and Mothers' Working Hours in the US and UK
Description:
This project examines the extent to which differences in market childcare provision can explain observed variation in mothers' working hours in the US and UK. The project makes use of panel data (British Household Panel Survey and US Panel Study of Income Dynamics) to explore the relationship between mothers' use of formal childcare and their working hours as well as national data on childcare providers to assess the role of the respective childcare markets.
