Section: Research Student Profiles
Kevin Quinn, born and normally resident in Ireland. I am working for FAS - the Training and Employment Authority in Ireland. I am manager of the International Employment Services Section and was lucky enough to win a scholarship to undertake a PhD in Edinburgh. As my job suggests I am interested in the whole area of migration and am particularly interested in the effects on the Irish labour market and society of the recent high influx of eastern European migrants.
My primary degrees are in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations and I completed a Masters (MSc) in European and Comparative Public Policy here in Edinburgh University in 2006.
